I have this blog of mine for almost half a year now. But this is the first time I'm going to putting an actual blog post. I feel like this is monumental for me in some kind of sense. Right now, there's only one thing running through my mind... I don't want to forget.
March, 24 2017. At about 2:00 to 2:30 p.m... I witnessed a suicide.
It was just a normal day. I was frolicking inside the Sta. Lucia East Mall. A mall that is quite far from our house but the only one I can consider a proper mall, because of its size mainly. As usual, after getting out of my review session, I once again head to the Sta. Lucia East Mall, mainly to get out of the heat and to also challenge myself in playing Tekken Tag Tournament at the local arcade inside the mall.
There was a space at the third floor of the mall where a bunch of benches were lined. After playing at the arcade, I decided to take a break in there. Apart from thinking that I was getting hungry, there's nothing else running through my mind. As I sat on the bench, I noticed a lot of people gathering around the central area of the floor. There a huge hole in there where you can use to see the rest of the floors. At first, I just thought it was nothing. Until the lady across me said something...
"Parang may tumalon doon..."
("Did someone just jumped in there...?")
Curious, I approached the gathering of people. Downward I look... and there it is... a corpse.
It was a man. About 35-35 in age, I guess. He was wearing a blue shirt. I can't see his lower half from where I am standing. He was lying with his stomach touching in the floor. It was near the central fountain where a line of rope was encircling it. The corpse was directly above that said rope. And of course... there's a pool of blood around his body.
That place where he jumped, near the fountain area, were where parents are allowed to rent small buggy car where they can drive around the fountain in circles. It must have been very shocking for the kids in there to see someone take a plunge in there. Although, I can't confirm it. The area was already cleared of people by the time I approached.
That can't be an accident.
That overlook was barred with a metal and glass fence that covers up to my chest. It was a tall fence. For someone to "fall" out of it, it has to be done with great force... or it has to be intentional.
Why did he jump? Surely there's no reason so great that he has to end his life like that.
I wonder why.
I might get back in here to add another of my opinion. I just have to write this somewhere. It still hasn't been three hours since I saw someone took their life. It was... disturbing.
